Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early flair to play sports while taking classes at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting ability at the time. The school placed second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, in just 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation and signed a professional deal with the sports organization Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary school. The first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for the 200m race. The title was upheld once again in 2007, by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 in all her competitions at the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
